Waterfront Place Precinct milestone Reply

On Monday night, the City of Port Phillip hosted a forum with key community stakeholders to examine technical studies for the Waterfront Place Precinct and seek views on design guidelines for the area.
The Waterfront Place Forum was the second of a two-part series, with an audience representing local residents, businesses and professionals.
In addressing the group, Mayor Cr Amanda Stevens said, “Tonight is an important milestone in advancing the discussions about the Waterfront Place Precinct.
“Council knows we need to do more work on the Waterfront Place precinct, particularly around planning for high quality public open places, improving parking and access, promoting tourism and determining the type of built form that we want to see. We are committed to getting this last precinct right and ensuring sound planning for the future.”
At the forum, independent experts presented technical studies on transport and access, views and vistas, and design and development for Waterfront Place.
The forum was an opportunity for the key stakeholders to provide further input into the Waterfront Place design and development ideas. There will be further opportunities for the wider community to have their say and this will be outlined at a public Council meeting in the coming months.
