Reconciliation lunch and smoking ceremony Reply

On Friday I attended a small luncheon in the Sth Melbourne Community centre to celebrate and remember reconciliation. There was a terrific turn out from the Aboriginal community. Today (Monday 27/5/13) I witnessed a traditional aboriginal smoking ceremony while the flags of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people were recognised. There were reconcilation

reconcilation2traditional owners and elders in the audience. It was moving for me to learn how much it means to them.
